So damn lucky. Of all the djs in all the clubs, I got invited to go play in the Bay Area in December, because OWEN. First stop was the Rellik tavern in Benicia, a largely military-driven town in the north bay. The night is run by a group of artists (video, visual, and fixers) largely for their own enjoyment but also for the community. (Sounds so familiar.) They’re known as Le Cercueil Noire. Their crowd is a bit odd in that many “townies” come through, but the dedication of the goths that show up is unmistakable. The first video is what the bar looks like, and the second is after closing time showcasing the beautiful posters.
